What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Group Project Accountant the main purpose of the role is to ensure that the Leidos Security Detection & Automation group subsidiaries projects financial performance is correctly measured & reported monthly; in addition to partnering with the project managers to track and report the financial life cycle of their projects from the bidding process to completion.

Key responsibilities include

  • The understanding of revenue recognition and experience of Long-Term Project Accounting
  • Production of the monthly project P&L’s, status (WIP) files and phased backlog forecasts
  • Maintain all project related accruals for labour, materials & sub-contractors
  • Apply underlying knowledge to varying sector types of project, which will require some travel to UK sites for project reviews
  • Developing and implementing repeatable processes and financial controls
  • Provide support and advice on complex financial issues to non-financial staff
  • Continually build relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve the successful completion of projects

About you

  • You’ll possess an excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and see jobs through to completion, combined with:
  • Significant project accounting experience in a growing and dynamic projects business
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, persuade and communicate effectively
  • Undertake key tasks with minimal supervision but also with the ability to work as part of a team or lead a team to achieve a business goal
  • To be able work under pressure in an organised and accurate manner within tight reporting deadlines
  • Numeracy and an eye for detail, capable of working quickly to a high standard of accuracy
  • Uses problem solving and decision-making skills to achieve results
  • Qualified/part qualified CIMA or qualified by experience
  • Experience of SAGE account package is advantageous
  • Experience of working within Indian tax jurisdiction advantageous
